Pho·tog Friday: Felix Hernandez Rodriguez

I recently came across an article on PetaPixel about a photographer from Cancun, Mexico named Felix Hernandez Rodriguez.  He photographs products, small models, human subjects, smoke, and fake snow to create a specific scene.  Often times, Rodriguez will shoot two or more photographs and merge them together in Photoshop.

Below is one of my favorite images taken by Rodriguez: The Crow & The Dove. By looking at the images, you can see that he photographed the boy separate from the boat. Rodriguez uses a method called "focus stacking". This is when a photographer shoots multiple images of one subject with a macro lens and combines the images together in Photoshop. For the next "Make it Monday" post, we'll take a close look at this approach to creating images.
