Pho·tog Friday: Karl Taylor

If you have not heard the news yet... please let me be the first to tell you!  We have an amazing guest speaker coming to talk to our school, Karl Taylor, on January 20th at 3:00pm EST!  This online lecture is scheduled a little earlier than usual because Mr. Taylor will be giving his lecture from England.  Be sure to reserve your seat as spaces for this lecture are bound to fill up quickly! Click "here" to register.

From shooting Architecture to Portraits to Objects to Land and Cityscapes, Taylor seems to photograph a little bit of everything!  He also has a background in film and video!  As seen on his website, "Karl Taylor has been a professional photographer for over 20 years and has traveled the globe on assignments for some of the world’s most successful companies.  Unusually for an advertising & commercial photographer Karl is what he calls ‘multi-disciplined’.  Having started his career in photojournalism he is comfortable and actively enjoys shooting across a range of genres. Karl’s ethos is that ‘variety is the spice of life’ and that the visual philosophies for creating effective images are universal" (Taylor, web).

Karl Taylor's interest in photography started out at the young age of  17.  He worked two different jobs to save money to buy the equipment.  Taylor worked as a photojournalist in South East Asia in his early twenties.  His primary focus while there was photographing the indigenous people of the country and his photographs were published in several newspapers and magazines throughout the area.  Once he returned back to England, he opened up his own studio and began working as a commercial photographer.  Taylor also started his own photography school called, "Karl Taylor Masterclass".
