Pho·tog Friday: Maki Kawakita · Live Lecture

from Maki Kawakit's "Celebrity" Portfolio
If you missed Maki Kawakita's live lecture given to The Art Institute of Pittsburgh - Online Division this past June... fear not! You can watch it right here!  From high fashion to Kabuki-style imagery to self-portraits, Maki Kawakita creates edgy, contemporary images renowned for their bold performance and thought-provoking composition.  As a well-known fashion photographer, Kawakita has photographed numerous celebrities such as Alicia Keyes, Paris Hilton, Beyoncé, and Missy Elliot.  She has also shot several advertising campaigns for Coors Light, Levi Strauss & Co., Virgin Records, Warner Music, and Smirnoff. What makes Maki Kawakita a special guest speaker for our AIPOD Photography Department’s Lecture Series, is that Kawakita is also an instructor at our school!  To learn more about Kawakita, check out my related blog posts by clicking, "here".
