Make It Monday: Light Meters

Welcome to "Make It Monday"!

The light meter can sometimes be a "tricky" tool.  During week one of PH136, students learn how to use a light meter.  This will be a tool that you will use throughout your time as a student and as well as the time you will spend as a professional.

The modules that teach students how to use their light meters within PH136 are fantastic although sometimes it is also a good idea to hear similar information from a different source.  I'd like to share a four part YouTube series with you that goes into depth about how to use your light meter. These four videos were created by AdoramaTV, with Mark Wallace as the host.  These videos might help better explain the "ins and outs" of a light meter.

In the first video, Mark Wallace explains how the meter inside of your camera works:

In the second video, he discusses exposure compensation:

In the third video, Wallace discusses the basics of using a light meter:

In the fourth video, Wallace specifically discusses the Sekonic L-758 Light Meter and shares some of his favorite metering tricks:

I'll see you next for "Website Wednesday"!
