Make It Monday: Create a Contact Sheet

Welcome to "Make It Monday"!

Last Wednesday, we had an introduction to Lynda.com and how that website can be useful to all of you on a regular basis.  One of the basic tasks you'll be asked to perform at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh is to create a contact sheet.  There are two programs that you can use to create a contact sheet: Adobe Bridge and Adobe Lightroom.

Check out this tutorial as seen on Lynda.com below that will teach you how to create a contact sheet using Adobe Bridge.  When you save your contact sheet in Adobe Bridge, it will save as a PDF file.  Please note that this tutorial is using CS5 although the instructions are similar to CS6.

Adobe also has excellent video tutorials for their products and below is a video tutorial that will show you how to create your contact sheet using Adobe Lightroom.  When you save your contact sheet using Adobe Lightroom, it will save as a JPEG.  Click here to view the tutorial.

Keep in mind that contact sheets should always be made at 300ppi in order for your professor and classmates to get a good look at your images.  Your professor might prefer that you use Adobe Bridge or Adobe Lightroom... or your professor might be indifferent.  Either way, it is a good idea to check with your professor prior to the start of class and see which program they prefer that you use.

I'll see you next for "Website Wednesday"!
