Make it Monday: Jes Brandon - Student Work

Brandon, Jes, Portfolio: Senior Portraits, 2015.
What does the word "portfolio" mean exactly?  The most basic definition of a portfolio is simply a large, thin, flat case for loose photographs to be placed into.  A portfolio is also known as a cohesive body of work that showcases a photographer's images; the body of work represents the photographer's specialized genre(s) that s/he may work in and highlights his/her style, concepts, and methods.

The first course you will take that is dedicated towards helping you further understand your knowledge of building a strong portfolio is PHOA109: Certificate Portfolio.  One of the most challenging aspects of putting a portfolio together is to choose images that clearly represent one sub-genre of photography.  The images you see in this blog post were taken by one of our talented students, Jes Brandon.  These images make up the portfolio that she put together for our PHOA109 class and display one cohesive body of work depicting senior portraits.
