Pho·tog Friday: Halloween with Seph Lawless

Happy Halloween or All Hallow's Eve or All Saint's Eve or Samhain!

It's been told that Halloween is the one night out of the year where the souls of those gone before us can return to Earth.  In that spirit, this post is dedicated to Seph Lawless' images taken around the United States of old and crumbling houses.  Based out of Cleavland, Ohio, Lawless - a pseudonym - says he wants for his images of decaying buildings to awaken his viewers in terms of the downward spiraling economy.  Not only are Lawless' chosen locations falling apart but they are also where horrific crimes had taken place, thus making them haunted!

Lawless, Seph, Ohio (L) and New York (R), 2014.
Lawless, Seph, Texas (C) Ohio (BL) and Michigan (BR), 2014.
Descriptions of the images are below in clockwise order:

"This house in Youngstown, Ohio, called the Nova House, is where a man named Benjamin Albright accidentally shot his son to death. Albright then killed himself and his wife out of anguish, and the house has been vacant ever since with the family’s stuff still inside." (Zhang, PetaPixel)

"The Cater House Estates in Buffalo, New York is the home in which a local sheriff committed suicide by shooting himself. Locals say they hear voices from the home." (Zhang, PetaPixel)

"The Hooley Haunted Mansion in Texas was a bed and breakfast in the 70s. It was also the site of a number of strange deaths." (Zhang, PetaPixel)

"The house above (BL) is Milan Mansion found in Ohio. The locals claim that the owner was a practicing witch." (Zhang, PetaPixel)

"The Temple Haunted Mansion in Detroit, Michigan is where a triple murder occurred in 1942." (Zhang, PetaPixel).
