Make it Monday: Home Improvements - Houseplants (Part I)

As the "regular" school year is upon us, I wanted to begin a short mini-series for "Make it Monday" posts that relates to home improvements.  Many of us study from the comforts of our house and shoot photographs from within our homes.  So... why not try a few tricks to improve the space you spend so much time in?  Eh? To start off this mini-series, we have a list of six different houseplants that allow you to breathe easier inside.  That's right: houseplants.  Below is a list of different plants you may want to add to your space to better your living situation:

Aloe Vera
Filters poisonous gases such as "Xylene", "Formaldehyde" and "Benzene" from the air, which are found in house cleaners and paints.  This plant also treats cuts and burns!
Spider Plant
This plant also clears "Formaldehyde", "Benzene" and "Carbon Monoxide" from your home.
Snake Plant
Filters "Formaldehyde"
English Ivy
Removes "Benzene", "Formaldehyde" and chemicals related to synthetic materials.  For anyone who has asthma and allergic conditions, this is the plant for you!

Weeping Fig
Filters "Formaldehyde", "Benzene" and "Trichloroethylene", which are also found in carpeting and furniture.
Chinese Evergreen
Filters "Formaldehyde" and "Benzene"
