Yeager, Bunny, Self-Portrait, ND. |
As noted in Part I of this Pho·tog Friday series on Bunny Yeager, she earned her claim to fame as a pin-up model and then as a pin-up photographer. I think it is important to note that Yeager always considered her pin-up photography to be tasteful; her subjects may have been partially or fully nude at times, although the images did not veer towards pornography or similar sub-genres.
Slowly but surely, Yeager's images started to make their way into the contemporary art world. In the early
1990's, Yeager's work was featured in a show at the Center for Visual
Communication, which was located in Coral Gables, Florida at the time.
The show focused on the images Yeager had shot during the 1950s of
different models on the beach and was titled "Beach Babes Bash".
