Website Wednesday: Photo Attorney

In today's digital era, it has become easy for someone to misuse your photographs. The degrees of the "misuse" can vary.  Perhaps a client has "shared" your photograph without giving the proper photo credit.  In other instances, a client may copy the high-resolution files that were only intended for them and "share" these with a relative or friend.  The worst scenario would have to be when a photographer (heaven forbid), saves your photograph and claims it as their own - disgusting.  But hey - it happens. Regardless of what the degree of the "infringement" is, it's important for photographers to fully understand the law.  Introducing "Photo Attorney."

Wright, Carolyn, Untitled, ND.
Photo Attorney has numerous articles for photographers on topics such as, copyright infringement, watermarking images, forming a business and getting online, dealing with legal threats and risks, photographer's rights and releases - and much more.  Along with the written articles, there are also multiple Lynda.com video tutorials.  Within the "Products" section of the website, you can also download multiple different forms such as, Model Releases, Copyright Infringement Cease & Desist/Demand Letters, Copyright Transfer Form, DMCA Takedown Notice, Independent Assistant Photographer, Liability Release & arbitration Agreement, and Property Releases.  Given that this website is dedicated to the "law," there are a few lawyers on stand-by who are ready for hire to help with any degree of "misuse" you may have encountered.  Be sure to check out the "Services" tab on their website for more information!
