Website Wednesday: (New) "Help Page" on eCollege

In every online course offered at AiP Online, students have the ability to access many different "help" sites and tutoring resources.  By viewing any assignment listed within a classroom, students can click the "Help" button in order to access the Photography Programs Tutorials.  Many different topics are covered within these tutoring resources. Regardless of your familiarity with computers, there is bound to be a tutorial that can help you achieve your goals.  Although this is a photography program, one's knowledge of the computer and software is key to succeeding within the classes.

After clicking on the big red "Help" button, a new webpage will upload allowing students to access General Computer-Related Tutorials, Live Tutoring, Help Forums, Workshops and Lynda.com Tutorials.  Students also have access to Thinking Storm, which is a free visual tutoring resource that is offered to Art Institute students everyday from 10am - 4am EST.

Thinking Storm specializes in writing although students can also request help with other topics, such as business via appointment.  Students can also access help for photography, writing, math, reading, science and computer skills via Live Tutoring or the Help Forums:

Let's say a student is looking for "General Computer-Related Tutorials", then the following topics listed below are covered:
My personal favorite tutoring resource is Lynda.com.  This is one of the best websites around that can teach you how to use a variety of Adobe products, which will prove useful to you as a photography student.  In order to access the tutorials posted on Lynda.com, you'll need to create a username and password (naturally) although you can access a PDF from AiP Online's "Photography Programs Tutorials" page that will show you how to do so.  I would encourage you to read the blog post I wrote regarding Lynda.com specifically; please click "here".

Lynda.com offers help with Acrobat, Lightroom, Photoshop, Quicktime, InDesign and Illustrator - as far as the basic Adobe products are concerned.  You can also watch a slew of video tutorials related to Microsoft Office's products, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook.

If you haven't already noticed, eCollege has updated their "Help" page to a more user friendly format. Information regarding the old "Help" page can be found by clicking "here".
