Website Wednesday: Postography App

Welcome to Website Wednesday!

Part of running your own freelance photography business is maintaining a good relationship with your clients; past and present.  The majority of the communication that you will have with your clients will most likely be through e-mail or phone call.  However, communication via e-mail and phone calls can sometimes seem a little "dry".  When a client has hired you to shoot a gig, big or small, it's always a good idea to make a more personal connection.  Now I ask... what better way is there to make a personal connection with a client than by sending a postcard in the mail?  ...as in the U.S. Postal Service... Remember those guys? The men and women who walk your neighborhood (or drive their delivery trucks) carrying the large satchels of mail - wearing the navy blue uniforms - in sun, rain, snow, wind... Introducing:

The Postography App

Perhaps you would like to make an additional effort to say, "Thank you for your business" or "I'm looking forward to working with you" or "Please check out my new website" or "I have an upcoming show".  Regardless of what you'd like to say to your clients, the Postography App is a convenient way to do so.  Follow these steps:

Download the Postography App - it's free!
Upload your own photo
Write a brief message to your client
Include your signature
Pay for the creation of the postcard and postage
Wait for your client to receive it!

The best part about this company is that they are eco friendly.  Postography uses vegetable based inks and recycled paper.  Naturally, we all love our fancy paper ink of choice... but a convenient way to create and send a postcard vs. is key in the fast paced work world.  Postography also plants a tree for every twenty postcards that are mailed.  It's all a win-win situation: you can send a personalized postcard to your clients, the USPS increases their business (which is desperately needed in our economy) and the earth is grateful for the new trees.  For more information, be sure to check out Postography's website (click "here") and their blog (click "here").
