Make it Monday: Nikon DF

Welcome to Make it Monday!

Nikon is going to announce their new full frame DSLR camera... tomorrow!  Introducing the Nikon DF, which stands for "Digital Fusion"!  Not too many details have come out about the new camera's abilities although, to read about the basics, click "here".  Quite the opposite has occurred in regards to the new camera's design; there has been a lot of talk about the body of the camera and it's resemblance to the Nikon FM2.  In short, the Nikon DF resembles a "vintage" camera!  Nikon has released a number of teaser videos about their new product:

Throughout all of these videos, the viewer "meets" a male character who goes on a lot of adventures with his new Nikon DF.  The character glances into the sky to observe the light and guesstimate his exposure settings. The sound of a top dial "clicks" as the viewer sees the character change his shutter speed; different from the dial simply rolling over to adjust the amount of light entering the lens.  He takes photos in London and captures ruins and crosses through prairies. The character comes across a fly fisherman and the viewer hears the shutter open and snap close.

Within the last teaser video, the viewer hears one of the many pearls of wisdom offered throughout this Nikon DF teaser series: "My father used to say find the one thing you can do all day without looking at your watch. That's your passion. He was right."  The click of the shutter is heard shortly after and the viewer is left wondering one of two things: Photography is my passion or Is photography my passion...  Then suddenly, the voice comes back on and says, "Now, every frame is meaningful again".

The videos certainly have my attention... be sure to keep your eyes peeled on Tuesday, November 5th for more information on the Nikon DF - and a price!
