Make it Monday: Depth of Field

Welcome to Make it Monday!

In many of your peer responses that you'll write to earn class participation points, you'll be asked to comment on your classmates' depth of field.  This is probably a term that you've heard before although it is often misunderstood.  

So, let's ask the question: what is depth of field and how does one control it?  How can one make the background of an image appear blurry?  Let's check out a video produced by Canon Australia to try and answer these questions: 
 


Hopefully, this video has been helpful!  You should now be able to recognize and use the terms "shallow depth of field" and "deep depth of field".  Be sure to also follow Canon Australia's YouTube channel to stay up to date on their tutorials!
