Website Wednesday: Where & How to Buy Good Equipment

Welcome to "Website Wednesday"!

I have found that one of the biggest challenges faced by students at AiP  Online is knowing where to buy equipment and more importantly, knowing which piece of equipment is better to buy.  Today we are going to talk about my favorite store to purchase equipment: B&H: Photo, Video & Pro Audio.

Many of you are probably familiar with this website but in case you are not, let me let you in on a little secret... ready? Here it is:

B&H is the best place to buy equipment from... in my humble opinion.

Any piece of equipment that is related to photography, video or audio can most likely be purchased at B&H.  However, I also wanted to make sure that you were aware of the "Learn inDepth" section of B&H's website.  See photo below and take note of the section outlined in red:

In the image above, note that there are a few different options to choose from within the "Learn inDepth" section:
  • Buying Guides
  • Professional Reviews
  • Solutions & Tips
  • Announcements
  • Videos
If you're ever unsure of what brand to purchase or what model number to buy, you could take a peak in the Buying Guide.  If you ever wanted to read if others liked their purchase, you could read feedback on the item within the Professional Reviews.
These categories are further broken down into topics such as:
  • Photography
  • Video
  • Audio
  • Computers
  • Home Entertainment
  • Portable Entertainment
To stay up to date on B&H's latest news, be sure to follow one (or more) of their social media networks.  I subscribe to B&H's YouTube Channel to stay up to date on the video tutorials they upload to their site.
In the photograph below, you'll see how the "Learn inDepth" page is broken down within each category:

I hope you've enjoyed this little "walk about" through B&H's "Learn inDepth" section of their website!

I'll see you next for "Pho·tog Friday"!
