Website Wednesday: PSPN - Photography Student Professional Network

Welcome to Website Wednesday!

By this point, many of you have read about the new social network that the Photography Department has put together at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh Online Division.  We've created an online community for students using Google+ called the Photography Student Professional Network, otherwise known as PSPN.  This is where students can share their work, connect with faculty, learn about new events and also get updates on the blogs associated with the community - such as the one you're reading now!

Let's take a closer look at how one would navigate this page:

The section with the blue square around it is the title of the community.  This section also shows that you that this online community is associated with The Art Institute of Pittsburgh Online Division.

Below is a section with a pink square around it; this is how you can navigate the different topics posted within this community.  Let's say you want to see some of you classmates' photographs, then you would click on the "Photo Sharing" section.  If you want to read about the latest news within the photography department, you would click on the "Photo Department News" section.  Did you miss the last guest speaker lecture? No need to worry - click on the "Guest Speaker Videos".

Care to share something within one of these topics?  Share your latest news where the green box is located.  Your posts will appear below; for example, Cyiara Mullins has shared a photograph that she took of her cat and Professor Njaa has shared an interesting video about the full moon.

The box in red is an about section, which introduces the reader to the idea behind this blog.  Also within this section, is a list of all the blogs connected to our PSPN community.  Be sure to follow all of the blogs so that you can receive updates via e-mail on the new posts!  Professor Phillips has a fantastic blog for students who are about to graduate and there's a wonder blog run solely by students, the Student Ambassador Blog!

Jump in, share your photographs, take notes on the advice given from the professors and - have fun!
