Website Wednesday: Connections

Welcome to "Website Wednesday"!

Today we're going to check out the social media that connects students and faculty at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh Online Division (AiP Online).  This social media is called Connections!  Many of you might already be familiar with social media websites such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+, etc... although at our campus, we use a site known as Connections.

Everyone is invited to join, get involved and - stay connected.  You can create a profile, post examples of your work and keep up with important Photography Department news and resources.  There are also a few opportunities to participate in photo competitions that are exclusive to Connection.  Mary Clare put together a fantastic video tutorial for students to watch in order to learn more about Connections.  Click here to watch the video.

In order to sign-up for connections, you want to log into the Campus Commons:

Once you've logged in, it will look similar to this.  Keep in mind this is the Faculty Commons you're viewing as I don't have access to the Student's.

Once you have set up your profile, it will look similar to the image you see to the right.  This is my profile in Connections.  My page shows you that I am listed as a faculty member, who I am friends with on Connections, the groups that I have joined as well as my recent activities.

Please feel free to reach out to me on Connections and stay in touch there as well.  I would encourage all of you to join our Photography Department group as well as the Student Photographic Society group!

I'll see you next for "Pho·Tog Friday"!
